here Calhoun Spine & Wellness. Want to talk to you today about something we see in our office every day. And that’s low back pain. Now, a lot of problems are a lot of times people develop these problems either by improper lifting or sitting too much. Sometimes it’s sports injuries.
For whatever reason, it may be. There’s some things I want to give you that you might could do at home to help alleviate your discomfort. The first tip I want to give you is a simple chair exercise where you sit in your, sit up straight in the chair and you just simply reach down and touch your ankles, hold this position for about a minute or two.
And then you can come on back up and you can repeat that two or three times. And that’s with all these tips that I’m going to show you today. The next exercise I want you to reach with your arm like you’re trying to get something off the ceiling and you’re about to come up off your on your tiptoes or out of your seat.
And then I want you to turn your torso 45 degrees and then go down again. Hold this to about a minute. or two. Only go down as far as you can stand it or it’s comfortable to you. Come back up and repeat that same thing to the other side with the opposite arm. Very good. Again, holding for one minute, only going to an area that’s comfortable to you that gives you a good stretch, but it’s not hurtful.
The next one is just, again, reach the arm, keep it extended and then lean directly to the side. Again, hold that for about a minute. Only go as far as you can where it’s just a stretch and not too uncomfortable. And then the same thing to the other side. Very good. Okay, so hopefully this will help you guys at home that is dealing with back pain.
