And I want to talk a little bit today about one of the most common things I see limiting people’s ability to perform certain movements in the gym or maybe limiting your ability to do certain things around the house and that’s lower back pain.
There are several different assessment processes we go through to try to figure out exactly what might be causing your back pain. Today I’m going to show you one you can do at home. Okay. This is called the hip flexion. So we’re going to take a pole, hold it straight out from your shoulders, and get Katie to flex her hip at 90 degrees.
Okay. So Katie’s pretty stable here, which tells me that her glutes are firing properly, and if she’s experiencing lower back pain, it’s probably not due to weakness in the glutes.
